Isn’t it true that as #adoptive parents, we may not like being assigned the role of educator! Hey we didn’t sign up for that! But that is what we end up being if we want others to be more sensitive to the feelings and sensibilities of adoptees, birthparents, and #adoptive parents. I believe that our modeling of appropriate language and our willingness to step into that role of educator will certainly teach others how to be whether it is one person, a journalist, a blog author, a teacher, a school administrator … Thinking that others should know will not help to change things but how we speak and act will. I applaud your willingness to take action and to create change. Hey, are those of us touched by adoption … are we ready TO CREATE THIS AWARENESS?
