This course includes six self-directed modules, which give you the flexibility and time to have meaningful conversations with your partner or the people who will come alongside you. Is Adopting a Child Right for Me? is designed to bring clarity to the decision to adopt or not adopt a child. It also gives you a framework to discern whether your expectations match the responsibility.
What Is It Like to Adopt a Child?
It's normal to feel excited and nervous when you don't know what to expect.
We have supported individuals and couples who worry about the home study because of past mistakes, housing insecurity, or physical or mental health issues in their family.
We understand the fear of open adoption that comes from myths heard in the community or hesitancy within the family, and we have helped people reframe those concerns.
We know that some families are new to the customs, traditions, and identity of a child from another culture or race, and may have questions about how to support a child they adopt transracially.
